Thank you to everyone who supported the Wrekin Beer & Cider Festival this year. We raised nearly £3000 in support of dear old Leighton Village Hall. It really wouldn't survive without this festival and, as there are some expensive roof repairs looming, it's more essential now than ever.
Our thanks list is long: our beautiful, generous sponsors; our clever brewers and cidermakers; our dazzling performers both young and slightly less young; our food providers (nom nom); our neighbours for loan of all sorts of things, mostly chairs; our churches for sponsoring the kids' activities; our volunteers who worked tirelessly from early till late and who turned out the next day to clear it all away again; and above all YOU!
The building has been a Village Hall for nearly 60 years (previously, it was the village school). We'll be celebrating this milestone next year with a variety of events: a Village History Project, a Carnival Dance and, of course, with another edition of the Wrekin Beer & Cider Festival.
We'd love to hear your comments on the Festival: www.wrekinbeerfestival.org or on facebook. Contact us if you are interested in any of the above events (we'll be announcing next year's Festival date in the next few weeks), would like to help out or if there are any activities you'd like to see running at Leighton Village Hall.
Thank you and see you next year!
